PNAGKC: An Evolution of Excellence, Giving and its Humanity
An organization which stays stagnant and resists change is not assured of perpetuity. Such is the fate sidestepped by the Philippine Nurses’ Association of Greater Kansas City (PNAGKC).
Its inception as an organization, which started in 1991, was directly influenced by Filipino Nurse attendees of an American Nurses Association function of the same year. This was also brought about by the steady migration of qualified Filipino nurses into the Kansas City area from as long as the 1970’s to the present.
The Symbiotic Filipino Community in the Greater Kansas City
The Greater Kansas City area Filipino community is unique in its relationships. Although divided by so many factors that include a geographically bi-state area, profession, age and Filipino region of origin, the community comes together in order to benefit one another over the years. Visitors to the Filipino Cultural Center in Overland Park, Kansas may be ushered in by a new acquisition. It’s not your usual piece of art or cultural relic but an item far more familiar to preservation of life.
